CONJUNCTION

Konjungsi (Conjunction) adalah kata penghubung, yaitu kata-kata yang digunakan di dalam kalimat yang berfungsi untuk menghubungkan klausa atau bagian dari kalimat, berupa pendapat (argument) maupun kejadian (event).

Beberapa jenis konjungsi, sebagai berikut:

A. ADDITION
. and = dan
. besides = selain itu
. further = lebih jauh
. furthermore = lebih jauh lagi
. moreover = lebih-lebih
. additionally = sebagai tambahan
. both … and … = baik … maupun … → untuk kalimat positif
. nor … neither … = baik … maupun … → untuk kalimat negatif
. either … or … = baik … maupun … → untuk kalimat positif dan negatif
B. COMPARISON
. as if = seolah-olah
. at least = paling tidak
. by contrast = kontrasnya
. conversely = sebaliknya
. instead of = daripada
. in fact = kenyataannya
. indeed = memang
. on the other hand = sebaliknya
. while = sementara itu
C. TIME
. after = setelah
. as soon as = sesegera
. at the same time = pada waktu yang sama
. before = sebelum
. firstly = pertama-tama
. lastly = terakhir
. once = ketika
. previously = sebelumnya
. since = sejak
. secondly = kedua
D. CAUSE
. although = meskipun
. but = tetapi
. because = karena
. even though = meskipun
. however = bagaimanapun/ tetapi
. therefore = oleh karena itu
E. MEANS

F. CONDITION
. as long as = selama
. even if = sekalipun

G. PURPOSE
. so that = sehingga
. in order to = agar
. without = tanpa
H. CONSEQUENCE
. admittedly = terus terang, tidak dapat disangkal
. of course = tentu saja
. still = tetap
