CONDITIONAL SENTENCE

Conditional Sentence atau if clause merupakan kalimat majemuk (complete sentence) yang menyatakan suatu akibat yang diharapkan dari kondisi tertentu. Kondisi tersebut dinyatakan di dalam sebuah klausa yang dimulai dengan if dan akibatnya dinyatakan di dalam induk kalimat (main clause). Jenis-jenis conditional sentence, sebagai berikut:

1. 1. 1. Type I: future conditional sentence, contohnya I will go if he gives me the money.
         a. Main clause menggunakan will, can, must, may, to be going to, have to, expect to + kata kerja I.
         b. Kata kerja untuk conditional clause berbentuk present tense.
      2. Type II: present conditional sentence, contohnya I would go if he gave me the money.
         a. Main clause menggunakan would, could, might, was going to, expected to + kata kerja I.
         b. Kata kerja untuk conditional clause berbentuk past present tense.
         
      3. Type III: past conditional sentence, contohnya I would have gone if he had given me the money.
